This is a character example for a rather physical person. The background has some depth which makes it possible to adopt the character into many kinds of campaigns.

The character is divided into three overall sections; a background that describes who he (Sean) is, a description of the recent past that place the character in a present context and thirdly a section that places him in the context of the campaign. In this case a World of Darkness campaign.

The Character:
Sean is at first glance a typical young English guy; at second glance you think hooligan and when you look closer you would place him as some kind of sports man maybe swimming or athletics.

Sean has blue eyes and bark blond hair; a little fewer than six foot tall and speaks with a thick Irish accent.

Sean was born in little Irish town outside Belfast. His dad worked at the steel factory. His mother was the local washing lady.
Already in the kindergarten Sean was known at his school as a troublemaker, pinching the girls, pulling pigtails and the like. Around the same time he started 2nd grade his father lost his job at the steel factory as well as a lot other fathers from the small town. His father that always had been known as a hard man did not turn to the better when he lost his job. He started hitting both Sean and his mother. It slowly turned worse and worse until the point where his mother ended up at the hospital with a broken leg. After that she left them for good. Sean never understood why she did not take him with her.
His father’s influence did not turn Sean towards the better. Sean more and more often ended up in fights in and out of school; any provocation was big enough to start a fight, a push on the shoulder at the school cafeteria, a look or just standing at the wrong place at the wrong time. Of the same reason Sean was left alone by all the other school children even the bigger kinds never got near him after he beaten up a 3-year-older boy.

To no one’s surprise, not even Sean’s; he ended up in jail for assault before his 16 years birthday. In jail Sean went through his first change since his mother disappeared. One of the guards kept trying to change Sean by talking to him, even though Sean did his best to hinder it by throwing food, yelling and fighting him, the guard continued. In the very end the guard did spike something, Sean learned to control his anger and found out that life maybe had something to give.
He was around 17 when he got out and he joined the army shortly after because it was the only place where he could earn some money as well as the army there the only place that would take in a juvenile criminal. At this time he had lost contact to his father as well.
The army changed him for real; all his anger could be put into something, the running, the fighting even at the gun range where the anger control could be turned into calmness, making him able to shoot better than most. The SAS became his only goal and after a year in the service he went to the tryouts. He was not even surprised when he got in, he was so focused and so sure that this was his future.

Sean had only a few friends in London besides the ones in his SAS group which were only 7 other guys, here is especially Ian Hugh O Donnabháin is worth mentioning. Besides that his name is often made fun of, he is as Sean, from Northern Ireland. They normally hang out together when off duty because of similar interest in football, beers and good boxing matches.
Out in the civil only two are worth mentioning Sophie Debost and Patrick. Sophie is just a local London girl Sean has been out with a few times and fucked a few times on a loose basic. There is no commitment either way. They just agreed that they never tell each other what they do with others.
Patrick is nothing more than a drinking pal from the local pub, where Sean used to come and watch football. They hang out when they are both at the pub and of some reason they always get along. After these nights Sean is always more drunk than normal. Even though they hang they don’t know each other’s surname or job maybe because it would ruin their relationship.

Sean’s embrace came as the biggest surprise ever! Patrick had been rambling about a new pub they ‘just’ had to check out, Sean this time more drunk than ever just followed. They never got to the pub. Two blocks from the pub they left, Patrick suddenly disappeared. Seconds later a car pulled up and four big guys jumped out and grappled Sean. A half hour later Sean found himself standing in front of a pale man at an office in a part of town he did not know. He was starting to sober up and all his military instincts was kicking in. This looked bad really bad. He was trying to figure out why the mafia had interest in him. What had he done wrong?
The man walked around Sean like he was sizing him. With a cynical voice he asked Sean a question. “I would like to know what you are thinking right now.” He smiled; not something that looked especially pleasing. Of some strange reason Sean just told him the truth. “I’m considering if I’m sober enough to take the chance and go for the knife in my boot leg. Trying to take you hostage is properly the only way out alive.” The man laughed. Then he stopped all of a sudden.

Sean adapted very quickly to the fact that he was turned vampire, maybe because his work description did not change that much. His sire wanted a soldier, someone that could help protect him and his court. This private business worked well for Sean, he liked the higher pay, the fact that he did not have to follow mortal law and the chance of immortal life.
